Is Cyren Zero-hour Antivirus effective (and if so, what is its effectiveness?).
I did a simple test: normally on our SmarterMail server 15 to 30 viruses are captured every day by ClamAV (source: Reports -> Viruses Caught).
By disabling ClamAV and enabling the 30-day Cyren test, the report above is always left at 0 (no viruses captured).
The Cyren report (Reports -> Cyren Zero-hour Antivirus) always reports 0 "Confirmed Virus" and some (few, 1 to 5 max) "High" or "Medium".
Even the "Non Virus" remain at 0, while I have several thousand "Unknown".
So the question is: why do I have to pay for Cyren Zero-hour Antivirus if it doesn't capture anything, and instead ClamAV seems much more effective?
